Responding to an emergency midnight hire request.

The Challenge

We received a call overnight after the main transformer in a substation had blown, shutting off all power to a residential community in the North East. An emergency solution was required as soon as possible.

The Solution

We received an emergency call at around 1:00am, requesting 1000kVA split phase.

Our engineers arrived onsite shortly after receiving the call to connect two 500kVA load sharing generators. However, we soon found that this was heavily overloaded and we needed to bring in a third generator from our Bowburn depot.

Once this generator arrived onsite, our engineers were able to share the load between the three sets, and power was fully restored to the area by 8:00am.
